I first flew solo at the age of 16 in April 1965. That was in an Air Cadets T31 glider at Spitalgate, England. I now have almost 1200 hours of power flying experience, much of it in aerobatic Pitts Specials.
I have a pile of trophies from aerobatic competitions. My wins included the Australian Aerobatic Championship (Advanced) plus lots of second places.
I began gliding again in November 2012 (see the Gliding page). I trained for a glider towing rating in November 2013 and I’m now flying a Piper Pawnee tow plane for Southern Cross Gliding Club at Camden.
