The old Sharpe family house at Harpole remodelled.

Thursday. Phoned friends Di and Dave Ballard and dropped in to see them. They were as lively as ever. Di said she’d cleaned the house especially for us. They are well – Dave is playing guitar with several bands and Di sings with him some times. They have an allotment (everyone seems to have one these days) and Di showed us a picture of it – complete with a bright blue shed with huge daisies painted on it! Old hippie habits never die! Dropped in to see Pam and Tony. Both well, chirpy, lots and lots of clocks, some amazing antique long case clocks with phases of the moon and even tide times.

Also popped in unannounced to Rob Lawrence at 18 High Street. They have finished work on the house and have transformed it. The old kitchen is now the entrance hall and the new kitchen is on the back. The house is spacious and much more livable than it used to be. He’s got chooks in the garden! They were pleased to see us and very chatty.
