A drop in the bucket

Lovely day for golf today. A bit chilly in the morning (6 degrees overnight) but reaching 18 degrees and bright sunshine in the middle of the day. Norm and I rocked up for our usual 18 holes at hilly Chatswood.

At the 15th hole, a 280-metre par 4, we left our clubs to the left of the fairway and carried our drivers across a little bridge over the creek to the elevated tee.

Norman took his huge club and let fly a mighty whack. The ball went off to the left and smacked into the sand bucket hanging from my golf bag with a loud bang and huge explosion of sand. The bucket did not survive. Oops!

As you would expect, my drive was almost perfect – dead straight and about 200 metres.

No need to mention the scores, that would be vulgar, but there were a few pars in there.
