Canberra culture

Another cool clear day in Canberra. We had a fab time at the National Museum – an amazing building. Then more culture at the National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery. We took some pix in the sculpture garden outside the gallery.

Chris, Jan and Ray with a shiny sculpture.

After the culture we headed for the Wig and Pen. A friend of Chris who was a real ale fan had taken her there before and she made us go, honest.

Jan and I had a pint of their finest local brew (Chris and Ray had a half) and it was lovely! The pub was a shopfront, but inside was proper pub – wooden tables and chairs, no music, no televisions. We had a lovely meal out that night. Then Sunday morning we went to a market at the old Bus depot which was fun (lots of earrings). We said our goodbyes and headed for home via Bowral and the Elephant Boy cafe.
