Rain

A wet, dull weekend. But it means I had some time to put some photo albums on this blog site. You can find them by clicking on the pages just below the top picture on the page.

I managed to mow the lawns before the rain came (exciting, eh!). Watching the first Ashes Test on the telly – great Aussie triumph followed by great Aussie disaster. What will happen today? It is still raining – we cancelled our golf game.

From the iPhone

Hey, it is lunchtime at work and I am testing the WordPress app on my iPhone to see if I can blog from anywhere!

Party time!

It was a rare occasion for us on Saturday night. We actually went to a party! Seems a long time since we had been to one. This was given by an old friend from he Sydney Morning Herald, Debra Jopson. We managed to find our way across the city from home to Randwick where the party was happenin, man! I caught up with some former colleagues ands we had lots of nice food and we danced the night away. Well, not actually all the night because at our age we do not like late nights very much!
More parties to come, but not so exciting – the Burke Street Top end residents’ Christmas party! Wahay!

My life on track

I am getting very cutting edge with this blogging stuff. I am filing this little message from the train into work, typing it on the office iPad. It seems to work fine so far and at least the keyboard does not make an irritating clicking sound when I type – there is a lot of that clicking on these commuter trains.
Lovely day yesterday. Played 18 holes of golf at Massey Park with Peter Barnett which was good fun. Peter is just back from a few weeks working in Bali but the rest from golf seems to have improved his game. My game – well some bits were very good and some bits not so good.
In the evening Jan and I with Viv and Chris and Mike and Eunice went to see a review of the year titled 2010 In The Rear with HG Nelson and a couple of the guys from The Chaser. It was very funny and for a good cause – helping asylum seekers. A bonus was seeing Reg Mombasa of Mambo fame and listening to him play with another guy in the band they call Dog Trumpet. great songs! I forgot to mention the Lebanese meal before the review – a flashback to an old favorite, The Prophet in Cleveland Street. I’m now nearly at Redfern, must go!

Some pictures, we hope

Modified – the gallery has now moved to another page – click on photos at the header of the opening page to go to the photos page. Getting some pictures working with a WordPress plugin called NextGen. You can see a little slideshow on the right of some of my pictures on my opening page. Mostly pix of planes at the moment, although we can change that – and put some cats there, for example! A lot of fiddling is needed to make this all work but it is reasonable fun.
